2021 Great Lakes Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Luke Patton is a 2022 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Ashland, KY who attends Boyd County. Nice athletic build with good present strength and room for more. High leg lift delivery with good direction to the plate, 3/4's to high 3/4's arm slot with nice extension out front, repeats his arm slot well on all his pitches and has a starter's profile at the next level. Fastball topped out at 85 mph, did a nice job of throwing his fastball for strikes early in counts and setting up his secondary pitches. Change up was a nice pitch with good arm speed and some run and fade. Has a good idea on a slurve type slider that he consistently landed for strikes. Excellent outing. 7.46 runner in the sixty, corner in field actions on defense in the infield, showed his arm strength well. Right handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a drift into contact that can leave him off balance out front, has some strength in his bat speed, worked up the middle for the most part and flashed some pop when he was able to stay back in his balance point. Good student. Named to the Great Lakes Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
