2024 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Ben Ivey is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-9 175 lb. frame from Columbus, GA who attends Brookstone. Primary left-handed pitcher with a compact frame. Begins delivery with a high leg lift and operation is smooth and easy. Has a whippy arm action and releases from a low-3/4 slot. Filled up the zone and fastball topped at 85 mph with run. Showed a 1-7 shaped curveball with late bite, freezing hitters and drawing swing-and-miss. Gets ahead of counts well and gets whiffs at the top of the zone. Flashed a changeup with some depth as well. Secondary first baseman and fielded the ball with two hands out front, showing an accurate arm. Left-handed hitter and starts from a narrow base with a lower hand set. Utilized an all fields approach and swing path is llofted. Works to lift and produced good barrels. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 National Underclass Showcase- Main Event Top Prospect List.
