2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
James Wright is a 2022 C/SS with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Colorado Springs, CO who attends Air Academy. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.50 seconds. Hits from spread stance with high hands and back elbow, leg lift trigger, swings with intent to do damage, has strength when square, can impact pull-side, good power in that direction. Primary catcher, even set, comes out of crouch well, violence to release with recoil over front side, solid arm strength, clocked up to 75 mph on throws. Also took the infield reps, higher two-hand funnel, gets hips turned well, longer strides through actions, up to 83 mph across. Very good student.
