2019 Northwest Prospect Showcase
Jaxon Henderson is a 2021 3B/SS with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Snohomish, WA who attends Glacier Peak. Medium frame with a lean build and beginnings of strength. Primary third baseman with deliberate footwork while closing to and rounding the baseball. Funnels out front and worked through exchange well. Flashed solid range to each side when moving for the baseball. Released from a three-quarters arm slot generating accurate carry to the bag at 79 mph. Right handed hitter with a crouched, balanced stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Clean hand path to contact with a linear barrel plane through extension. Flashed solid feel for the barrel with present bat speed. Primarily looked to utilized a mid field approach between the gaps. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. Simple leg lift to belt and stayed balanced at gather. Medium arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball came out of hand cleanly producing some downhill tilt through the zone in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 80 mph. Curveball flashed tight spin with good lateral movement in the mid 60's. Displayed good feel for breaking ball with the ability to land for strikes in both positive and negative counts. Good student. Named to the 2019 Northwest Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
