Briggs Richards is a 2022 C/RHP/IF with a 6-0 192 lb. frame from Williamston, SC who attends Palmetto. Primary catcher with ability to catch, throw and block from traditional stance with runners on base, using a strong lower half frame. Utilizes one knee setup with no runners on and transitions to traditional block and throw stance which he does really well. Arm strength of 81 mph across the diamond, 74 mph behind the plate and a pop time of 1.94 which shows he can really throw the pill. Blocks everything and received upper-80s velocity with zero issues and the ability to get under strikes in lower half of the zone. Average running catcher with a 7.53 second sixty yard dash time. Secondary right-handed pitcher that focused on catching and swinging the stick, both of which he did with authority. Crouched over stance in the box that has strength in swing and power at contact. He can get a little bit downhill at times with his swing path when he is late in his setup and stride, but has the strength to get balls through the infield on the ground. When he catches it out front, he creates loft and showed big pull side power. Young man has skills on both sides of the ball, strong frame and aptitude to get better, with a real chance of future success. Outstanding student with a 4.0 GPA.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
