Gavin Eckstrom is a 2022 OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Northridge, CA who attends Chaminade College Preparatory. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, has room to fill throughout moving forward. Quick twitch, posted a 6.70 60-yard dash. Athletic actions in the outfield, sound footwork moving towards the ball ,fields it out front, works behind the ball and shows arm strength and carry out of hand to the intended base. Right-handed hitter, begins with a spread stance and a medium hand set, short weight shift moving into contact through lower half. Short hand path moving towards the ball with swing, best contact working on a linear plane and showed comfort living towards the middle of the field. Swung it well in game, connected for an inside-the-park home run and showed some jump to pull side in game, speed plays on bases and makes a difference. Good student. Named to Sunshine West Top Prospect List.
