James Wallace is a 2008 1B/RHP/3B with a 6'2'', 190 lb. frame from Corpus Christi, TX, who attends Tuloso Midway HS. Wallace has an extra large frame with good present strength. Defensively he has solid footwork around the first base bag, and threw 72 mph across the infield. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from a straight away to slightly closed and crouched stance. Wallace takes a longer stride, but stays balanced and gets good leverage at the point of contact. He has good bat speed through the hitting zone, and shows projectable power. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with good arm action and arm speed. Wallace has a shorter arm circle on the back side with an online and balanced delivery. His fastball topped out at 82 mph with arm side life, and he mixed in a 71 mph curveball with 11 to 5 break. His curveball is his best pitch with good depth, and he throws the pitch for strikes. Wallace is a two-way prospect, and is a very good student as well.
