Will Burns is a 2023 SS/3B with a 6-2 175 lb. frame from Mission Viejo, CA who attends Mission Viejo. Recorded a 6.69 second 60 yard dash time, showcasing elite speed. Big and strong frame with an athletic build, projects well. Primary shortstop with a short arm action and carry across the diamond at 87 mph. Arm definitely plays from the left side, ball comes out easy. Moves well laterally in both directions, plays through the ball, athletic actions all around. Right-handed hitter with a wide base and loose wrists. Good rhythm and intent to the swing, easily creates lift and impacts the ball. Shows strong hands and whip to the barrel, definite bat speed present. Powerful gap to gap approach, uses all fields and can hit with authority to the opposite field. Uses the ground well, really impressive BP that ended on a pull side homerun. Excellent student. Named to the 2021 California Workout Camp Session 1 Top Prospect List.
