Wesley Mendes is a 2023 LHP/OF with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Tampa, FL who attends Tampa Jesuit HS. Recorded a 6.73 second 60-yard dash time. Athletic build with some wiry strength and substantial physical projection. Primary left-handed pitcher with a quick arm and efficient path. Three-quarters slot with a clean release. Fastball gets very good carry and IVB. Crossfired front landing leg aids in creating deception. Good angles to the plate with solid feel to spin the curveball. Solid bite and depth to the breaker. Fastball lived mostly in the 88-90 mph range with that late, vertical life. Changeup was flashed with good tumbling action. Arm strength plays from secondary position of the outfield. Right-handed hitter with a small stride forward and consistent leverage. Good bat speed with a cleaner path. Can lift and execute out in front to posit power. Great student. Verbal commitment to Vanderbilt.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
