2022 National Academic Showcase (Tues/Wed)
Ike Schmidly is a 2023 OF/RHP with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Myers Park. Ike is a very athletic player that shows ability anywhere on field. Doing a nice job staying behind the ball in the outfield, Ike fields it a bit deep on the side but shows good momentum through the transfer. A longer arm action, he gets into the back side well and release is on time with plenty of good carry to target. Very good arm strength. On the bump, Schmidly has clean mechanics and repeats his delivery well. Ike gets over his backside well and drives toward the plate getting downhill with a long loose arm action. Works a bit around his body, would want to clean that up and stay linear upon forward drive. The baseball comes out of a high three-quarter slot, and the fastball shows some arm side run. Ike ran a 6.75 second 60 yard dash, is a tremendous student in the classroom and was named to the 2022 National Academic Showcase Top Team List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
