Justin Tranum is a 2024 C/LHP/1B with a 5-9 180 lb. frame from Spring Hill, FL who attends Central. Medium frame with compact, athletic build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.57 seconds. Two-way player, hits from wide-based stance with small rock back into load, good loft to stroke, intent is to drive the ball in the air, can impact pull-side, solid strength in hands, shows good offensive tools. Worked out in the outfield, moves well to the ball and stays balanced when maintaining momentum through the ball, repeats actions well, clocked up to 80 mph on throws. Graded out well on the mound, works from the stretch, lands inline to the plate and gets over front side, lower 3/4 slot release with good running life on fastball, sat 77-82 mph, mimics release on fading changeup, showed curveball with 1/7 shape and good depth as well. Very good student, named to 2023 Uncommitted Main Event Top Prospect List.
