Michael Vanderheyden II is a 2025 C/1B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Enterprise, AL who attends Enterprise. Strong and physical build. Athletic frame. Ran a 7.21 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with really smooth actions behind the dish. Has some length in the frame. Showed off a quick transfer with a clean release, helping him produce a 2.03 pop time down to second base. Showed a few reps with one-knee down, keeping throws accurate around the bag, staying on line through the throw with strength that projects to continue improving. Has very soft hands with the ability to catch balls cleanly. Looked the part in games and has a good baseball IQ that projects to continue developing over time. He's a right-handed hitter who keeps a high back elbow with a barrel wrap show. Starts slightly open with the ability to work the middle of the field. Good round of BP with consistent contact. Actions project to keep improving as he adds strength. Great student. University of Houston commit.
