Kane Stephey is a 2026 SS/RHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Newark, OH who attends Newark Catholic. Recorded a 7.51 second 60-yard dash time. Primary shortstop with a medium frame and slender build. Athletic actions moving around with long strides to gather and soft hands. Reads the hops working through the ball and higher slot on clean arm stroke. Throws across the diamond at 80 mph with true ball flight and accuracy. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a rhythmic delivery and high posture release down the slope. Medium arm swing to high 3/4 slot release direct to the plate. Fastball up to 78 mph (2185 RPM) and curveball with depth at 71 mph (2225 RPM) when over the front side. Flashed a solid changeup in the 70-mph range (1371 RPM) for a three-pitch useable mix. Velocity will increase as he fills out his young frame with present ability to spin a breaking ball. Right-handed hitter with a medium base and low hands setup in the box. Level swing path through the zone with developing impact through the middle of the field. Increased bat speed and impact as he gains size and strength to his slender young build. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
