Jake Smith is a 2022 RHP/3B, OF with a 6-0 210 lb. frame from Snoqualmie, WA who attends Mount Si. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.50 seconds. Primary righthanded pitcher, good direction to plate with good lower half drive, simple operation that he repeats well, higher slot, fastball worked 81-84 mph with good arm side life, showed cutter with good action, curveball has slurvy shape and moderate depth, fades a changeup as well, threw strikes and attacked. Hits from even-based stance with high hands and back elbow, shorter to the ball with drift onto front side, wraps barrel into load, pull-side approach with ability to lift and backspin, good power potential. Worked out in the outfield, lengthy strides, stays compact through fielding, fields cleanly, clocked up to 85 mph on throws. Good student, named to 2021 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
