2020 Mid-Atlantic Prospect Showcase
Gavin Carlucci is a 2022 2B/RHP, 3B, MIF, OF with a 5-7 140 lb. frame from Garrison, NY who attends Walter Panas. Recorded a 7.34 second sixty-yard dash time. Small, slender frame with room to fill out and add strength. Primary infielder with a good approach into the fielding, staying low through the process with a clean funnel out in front and quick transfers. Displayed ability to throw from multiple angles across the diamond with accuracy and arm strength recorded up to 77 mph in drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher; works from a fairly simple operation, belt high leg lift and slightly cross-body release. Fastball worked in the low-70s in this look, topping out at 74 mph with developing arm speed. Mixed in slower curveball that varies in shape but is best when thrown with conviction and out in front. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wide, even based stance with a tight hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Shows ability to get on plane consistently with feel for the barrel and best impact to the middle-of-the field. Will continue to improve with some refinement of the overall skill set and additional strength. Excellent Student.
