Benjamin Martin is a 2021 C/UT with a 5-11 162 lb. frame from White Lake Township, MI who attends Orchard Lake St. Marys Prep. Medium frame with some strength present especially in his lower half. Ran a 7.86 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up behind the plate with a higher crouched position, receives the baseball out in front, showcased mechanically sound actions at the catching position, compact arm action into throws with developing arm strength, 2.44 second best pop time. Also worked out in the outfield, fielded the baseball cleanly while bending at the waist, similar arm action release as behind the plate, topped out at 68 from the outfield. Also took reps in the infield, young actions in the infield, will improve momentum to his target with a refined lower half at release, showcased the ability to throw from multiple arm angles. Righthanded hitter, sets up at the plate with and even and bent knee stance, leg lift trigger with some hand movements at load, young bat speed flashing the ability to get the bat head out in front, looks to lift, tools to improve on with proper refinement. Outstanding student.
