Sammy Laux is a 2024 C/1B with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Schwenksville, PA who attends Christopher Dock Mennonite. Athletic, well-proportioned frame with tons of quick twitch and lean muscle throughout. Recorded a 4.88 second forty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that from a wider, slightly side-saddled stance with high energy actions out of the crouch and a direct mid-line transfer. Gains ground quickly, exhibits accuracy on his throws and has tons of present arm speed. Produced arm strength up to 80 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider, crouched stance with tight hand set and small inward stride into initiate swing process. Simple, repeatable stroke with lightning quick hands, strength at impact and some feel for the barrel. Displayed legitimate power potential to the pullside and swing translates into game action. Extremely athletic backstop with tons of present arm strength and offensive prowess, will continue to improve with subtle mechanical adjustments and additional strength. Verbal commitment to West Virginia University. Named to the 2023 Northeast Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List. Good Student.
