Joshua Reed is a 2023 LHP/1B with a 6-2 215 lb. frame from Midland, TX who attends Midland. Large frame with strong, physical build; ran 60 yard dash in 8.53 seconds. Primary pitcher, simple delivery with efficiency in lower half, extended 3/4 slot release that creates angle, changes speeds and makes fastball move, worked 72-79 mph with good life, sweeping curveball with good action, flashed changeup with fade, solid strikes and feel. Hits from narrow stance, bars into load, separates, gliding lower half, good strength when square, pull approach. Solid actions at 1st base with hands and feet, clocked up to 82 mph on throws. Also threw 81 mph from the outfield. Very good student.
