Joshua Diaz is a 2028 3B/RHP/1B with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends The Stony Brook. Medium, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.69 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, shows quickness to lower half and works behind the ball and through it well, softness to hands into a quick transfer, shows range and ability to adjust to the ball, lots of arm speed and carry across the diamond with accuracy on to first base. Als pitched, abbreviated windup with a coiled leg lift at top of delivery, medium length to stride out onto front foot. Compact arm action with a three-quarters release point; fastball topped out at 84 mph and jumped through all four quadrants of the zone. Present feel for spin and shows depth to breaking ball at times, up to 72 mph, more slider shape early in counts. Intriguing upside on the mound and repeats delivery well. Right-handed hitter, begins with an upright stance and even base in the box, lots of intent in swing, employs a small stride moving into launch. Short and direct swing with fast hands and big bat speed. Occasionally gets to front side early, shows jump off of the barrel when squared, line drive carry coming off of the barrel to all parts of the field. Very good student. Named to the 14u Mid-Atlantic All-State Games Top Prospect List.
