Anthony (AJ) Infantolino is a 2027 SS/RHP/C with a 5-5 120 lb. frame from Wyckoff, NJ who attends Don Bosco Prep. Smaller, slender frame with some present athleticism and plenty of room to physically mature. Primary shortstop with natural athleticism throughout the fielding process, a clean funnel out in front and exceptional lateral range to either side. Exhibits ability to adjust well to the baseball, works downhill through it and carries momentum into release. Recorded online, accurate throws with developing arm strength up to 67 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a simple, repeatable operation and plenty of projection remaining. Incorporates simple side-step to start, while working into a slightly coiled leg lift and displays good usage of his lower half down the slope. Fastball worked in the mid-60s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 67 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower with command to both sides of the plate, will continue to improve with development of a secondary offering and additional velocity. Took part in the catcher's portion of the defensive workout as well; receives from a slightly side-saddled stance with soft hands and direct mid-line transfers. Gains ground towards his target, working slightly uphill into release. Recorded arm strength up to 63 mph from behind the plate during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a crouched, open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Compact, line drive stroke with some quickness to his hands and good feel for the barrel. Middle-of-the field approach consistent contact and some power projection as he continues to mature. Solid, overall skill set with upside on both sides of the ball. Will continue to improve with proper mechanical adjustments and additional strength. Named to the 2022 New York Indoor Showcase Top Prospect List.
