Daniel Mendez is a 2026 SS/RHP/2B with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Ola. Solid athletic build with some lower half strength. Left handed hitter, hits from an upright slightly open stance with a simple load and trigger, very consistent swing mechanics that produced lots of solid barrels, works middle to pull side with a some jump off the barrel, promising young hitter who will keep improving as he gets stronger. 7.85 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, projects to third base in the near future, feet work well and he circles the ball well, soft hands at the ball, developing arm strength from an over the top arm slot. Also pitched, fastball topped out at 78 mph, mostly straight. Has confidence in his change up and uses it often and sells it well. Landed a big slow curveball often. Mixes it up and throws strikes. Excellent student. Named to the Fall Southeast Showcase Top Prospect List.
