John Pecoraro is a 2008 IF/RHP with a 5'10'', 165 lb. frame from Menifee CA, who attends Paloma Valley HS. He has a medium frame and a lean, somewhat compact build. Pecoraro was one of the top defensive players in the event and then showed well on the mound too. If he can continue to develop the bat, he will get plenty of attention from college programs. He has a quick bat and his hands work well, with a consistent line drive swing. He is a contact hitter with a gap to gap approach and showed some bat control. Pecoraro is a very good defensive player. He has a nice set-up and plays with feel. His arm is strong and quick and grades even better with his quick release and good hands. Pecoraro can really pick it and that ability will get him on the field early in his college career. On the mound he is interesting too. His arm is quick and with his quick paced delivery that speeds up hitters, he can upset the timing of hitters. Pecoraro's fastball (82-84 mph) is pretty sneaky. His curveball (71-72 mph) has good action and should be a usable pitch. He throws strikes and showed some pitchability and moxie, which suggests that Pecoraro will be a good reliever someday. He is a solid student and his best baseball is still ahead of him.
