Holt Gaston is a 2027 3B/RHP/Cwith a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Arden, NC who attends T C Roberson. Medium current frame with broad shoulders, present muscularity and a lot of projection ahead. Ran the 60 yard dash in a solid 7.14 seconds. Primary position RHP, working with a slightly offset start from the 3B side of the rubber. Quick cadence to his overall operation, with leg lift just above the belt to get loaded over the rubber. Hand break at the belly into deep inline path as he accelerates through a high 3/4 arm angle. Very strong in the lower half and gets down the slope well. Flexible and explosive in the core, creating plenty of torque to accelerate the arm. FB with big life in the zone, up to 87 mph and sitting in the mid-80s with good spin traits. Two distinct breaking balls, SL in the upper-70s with high level spin and wipeout pitch potential backed up by his CB around 70 mph with good vertical depth. Completely dominant is one live inning. Reps in OF and IF showing good athleticism and quick feet, nice hop in his step. Deeper midline transfer with smooth glove work through the ball. Arm played well here, up to 85 mph from OF and 83 across the diamond. RHH working from a well balanced and slightly open stance, using small leg lift and simple bat path to contact. Really strong in the hands with line drive stroke and the ball jumps off his barrel. Will learn to get on plane down the line and will get to his power, there is juice without a doubt. High level two-way athlete and will be getting plenty of recruiting interest in the near future. Interesting prospect to follow.
