Olin Ward is a 2023 3B/SS/OF with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Saraland, AL who attends Ums-Wright Prep. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 6.98 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front with some bend at waist, deliberate footwork and will continue to refine, fuller arm action working up to a higher slot on throws across. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, taller stance in the box. Does a nice job of incorporating physical strength into swing, occasionally gets to front side early but does gets the barrel out front well and creates leverage through the point of contact. Ball jumps off of the barrel, consistent strength when squared and will continue to unlock even more moving forward, clean path through the zone overall with present bat speed. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
