Patrick Gamblin is a 2009 LHP/1B with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Harlem, GA, who attends Harlem HS. Named to the Top Prospect Team. Gamblin was one of the top 2009 prospects in attendance with upside on the mound. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a quick arm and a long arm circle on the back side. His fastball topped out at 84 mph with some cut action. He is aggressive with his fastball, and also mixes in a 66 mph curveball and a 69 mph change. His curveball has good tilt with a 2 to 8 break, and his change has arm side fade and sink. He has pitchability and good mound presence for a young pitcher. At the plate he is an aggressive hitter with line drive approach. Has a quick bat and hits hard line drives from gap to gap. Once on the bases, he showed good instincts and the ability to steal bases and take the extra base. Two-way prospect with good upside on the mound. He is also an excellent student.
