2023 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Grady Smith is a 2026 C/RHP/1B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Saint Augustine, FL who attends Allen D Nease. Slender young build. 8.37 runner in the sixty. Primary catcher on defense, two handed receiver, has a long arm action throwing with developing arm strength, young overall actions. Right handed hitter, hits from a very spread stance with a short shift into contact, gets his hands separated and out front early, line drive swing plane with mid field to opposite field contact. Took at turn on the mound, has a drifting delivery with a pause over the rubber, compact arm action, tends to get too far out over his front side and loose leverage. Fastball topped out at 65 mph, still developing feel for his off-speed pitches. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
