Evan Leszczynski is a 2023 2B/1B/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Port Tobacco, MD who attends North Point. Recorded a 4.78 second forty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with a high waist and plenty of room and time to fill out. Primary infielder with athletic actions throughout the fielding process; uses quick footwork, good lateral range to either side and good usage of his lower half to work downhill through the baseball. Displayed clean funnel, smooth transfer and the ability to throw from multiple arm angles when necessary. Recorded arm strength up to 76 mph across the diamond. Secondary outfielder with developing defensive skill set; incorporates deliberate, choppy steps into the fielding process, anticipating the ball to field deeper with a later glove action. Two hand gather with shuffle, shuffle movements into release, while recording developing arm strength up to 75 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and leg lift trigger. Incorporates slight backward weight shift and rotational lower half mechanics upon landing to start his swing, flashes some compact present bat speed with fairly direct path that has some natural lift to it. Middle-of-the field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills, quickness to his hands and some feel for the barrel. Implores good balance throughout with ability to deliver the barrel on-time often to produce line drive impact. Young, developing prospect that will continue to improve with additional strength and refinement of his skills. Excellent Student.
