2023 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Brennan Neal is a 2027 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Columbus, GA who attends Brookstone. Neal provided value at a range of defensive positions over the course of his event, starting as a primary SS where he showcased natural athletic movements and active footwork with a clean fielding funnel. He works through the baseball well with sound glove work, ultimately topping out at 80 mph across the diamond. From the OF, again showed solid arm strength up to 85 mph with clear carry behind throws. Has plenty of projection remaining in the frame with arm strength only expected to increase as a '27 prospect. On the mound, Neal utilized a belt high leg lift and worked in-line down the hill well up to 81 mph. Released from a lower 3/4 slot with natural run/sink present on the FB. Mixed a breaker that registered at 1945 rpm as well as a CH that killed spin successfully at 1474 rpm. Offensively, the righty started from a slightly open base with a high hand set and lower back elbow, creating consistent carry to the pull side of the field. He got the barrel extended nicely and utilized the lower half well with present weight shift and hip torque. Posted an exit velo of 91 mph. Ran a 6.94 sixty yard dash. Good student. Named to Top Prospect List.
