2024 WWBA Workout Showcase (June 21)
Tanner Phillips is a 2025 1B/RHP/3B with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Centreville, VA who attends Chantilly. Long, projectable frame with good muscle tone and room to continue to add physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.12 seconds. Primary position 1B, showing familiarity around the bag and working through his angles methodically as he makes plays. Firmer glove action making plays and short arm action plays nicely here. Feeds to bags up to an impressive 87 mph across the diamond. Reps on the infield as well and profiles as corner guy with power oriented skillset. RHH working from a wide and even stance to start with a good handset and loads into his backside pre-pitch. Good rhythm in his hands, tends to get a bit steep to impact with bat head. Off time early in the round but go things going as the round progressed and showed best impact in the middle of the field. When he synched up upper and lower body the ball jumped off barrel. Projection in his frame and skillset. Very good student as well.
