Crew Elrod is a 2029 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 210 lb. frame from Chattanooga, TN who attends Baylor School. Large, broad shouldered frame with present physical strength proportioned throughout. Ran an 8.26 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, slight turn in set up behind the plate during drills, receives the ball out front, gains short ground coming out, sound transfer and shows some present arm strength on throws down to second base. Big target at first base for infielders to throw to, moves around the bag well with solid fundamentals, accurate throws from a shorter arm action across the diamond. Left-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and hands away from body, utilizes a short kneel lift trigger for timing in the box. Does a nice job of staying direct to the baseball, incorporates physical strength well and is able to generate big impact when extended out front. Shows the ability to go with the outer half pitch, best strength to the pull side. Good student. Named to the 14u Georgia All-State Games Top Prospect List.
