Brody Hurd is a 2027 OF/RHP/3B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Buford, GA who attends Buford. Features a medium-sized lean build with room to add. Ran a 7.30 60-yd dash. In the OF, he showed aggressive footwork to start. Avg. actions all together where there was some stiffness to his lower half that didn't get him fully down at reception. Fields it off to the side a bit but clean. Takes a bit longer to release getting into some extra steps/shuffles. Gets uphill with his shoulders and uses a more compact arm action that got off higher arcing throws with avg. strength for his level. Gets onto his front side a bit too much on his throws which hurts potential arm strength. In the INF, showed developing actions. It's avg. glove skill where he lacks feel to the backhand side but fielded it clean when right at him and to the forehand side. Used a shorter arm action that worked to release to a lower 3/4 slot that got off throws with 50/50 accuracy. At the plate, it's a real simple stroke with minimal waisted movement. Starts more upright and uses a smaller forward move and takeback of the hands that stay tight. The hands dominant the swing where they work direct and inside the baseball with minimal adjustability. Showed avg. bat speed and impact. Had some quality LDs back up the middle of the field.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
