Mason Myers is a 2024 MIF/OF with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from St Clairsville, OH who attends St Clairsville HS. Mason is a long and lean, fundamentally sound player who has the frame to add both size and strength as he matures. In addition to his talents on the field, Mason is an exemplary student. He ran a 7.25 60 yard dash. A primary MIF, Mason shows easy and smooth footwork to position with routine effort. He works through the fielding action cleanly and consistently. His 70 mph throws out of a lower slot, always find their target. Mason also took a turn in the OF. His actions there almost mirror his actions on the infield. His footwork is solid and his glove plays. He transitions well and his 74 mph throws, show solid, firm carry. At the plate, Mason utilizes an even and spread stand and he chokes up on the bat a little. Shows routine weight shift to help trigger. Has more of a flatter, line drive bat path that works well for him. He makes a consistent attempt to stay in the middle of the field. His actions are sound for his body type and his approach is something he can build on. Mason has the right idea. He has the potential to really grow as a player because his fundamental approach is so sound. As he gains HS experience and is exposed to a HS weight program, he should see marked improvement. A lot to like with Mason and his future in the game.
