Ashton Sweet is a 2023 C/RHP/UT with a 5-10 157 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Paetow. Ran a 7.28-second sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a slender frame that has room to fill out and add strength. Starts from a side saddle stance, showcasing developing actions out of the crouch, and replacing the feet well. Has developing arm strength, making throws to second base at 67 mph. Also worked out in the outfield, fielding clean off the front foot with good footwork into the approach. Showcases better arm strength with some carry to bases at 77 mph. Right-handed hitter that starts from a tall and open stance, with a simple load and slightly lifted barrel plane through the zone. Has a middle of the field to pull-side approach, flashing some bat speed and some power that will improve as the frame continues to mature. Has some feel for the barrel with a high-contact approach.
