Jordan Tompkins is a 2024 C/RHP, OF with a 5-9 154 lb. frame from Escondido, CA who attends San Pasqual. He ran a 7.37 second sixty. A primary catcher with a young build. Behind the plate he showed a good understanding of the actions gaining ground into his throws with a quick release creating average carry with a 2.07 second pop time. In the outfield he sat 72-75 mph with the fastball showing a shorter arm action working to the arm side from a high three-quarters arm slot, the slider has horizontal shape with later bite, the changeup is mostly straight in the upper 60's. He is able to throw all three for strikes and maintains his Velo in the stretch. In the outfield he showed his best arm strength at 83 mph working under control to the baseball fielding it deep on the left foot and transferring the momentum into the throws with average carry to the bases. Right-handed hitter, starts with a wider base showing best working to the opposite field on a line with a bog weight shift into contact, he is able to produce line drives when the barrel get out front and will get there more consistently with a better feel for the trigger of the swing. Excellent student.
