Michael Velardez is a 2025 SS/RHP, 2B, 3B, MIF with a 5-11 171 lb. frame from Menifee, CA who attends Vista Murrieta. Recorded a 7.49 second sixty yard dash time. Lean and athletic build with good physical projection. Primary shortstop with smooth actions, moves well laterally and gets into good fielding positions. Has feel for the glove and showed the ability to plays on the move. Showed well defensively in workouts and in games, plenty of athleticism present, a lot to like moving forward. Secondary right-handed pitcher with a high hand set and an easy stride forward. Controlled tempo throughout the delivery, repeats the operation very well. Has good young arm strength and will continue to add velocity. Showed an impressive curveball for his age with 12-6 shape and good depth, was able to throw it for strikes whenever he wanted. Good projection on the mound as he continues to develop. Switch-hitter with a high back elbow set and tight hand set. Utilizes a handing leg lift trigger, straight uphill swing with some strength behind it, struggled to get the barrel out during BP. Was able to make solid contact when on time, will continue to improve as he repeats the operation consistently and improves timing. Looked better at the plate during games. Great student.
