2022 PG Softball Winter Scouting Combine - Iowa
Saydee Plummer is a 5-foot-10, class of 2024 RHP/1B from Burlington, IA who attends Burlington HS. Saydee is an up-and-coming player who shows a solid foundation based on a consistent fundamental approach. In addition to her evolving skills on the diamond, Saydee is also an accomplished student in the classroom. She ran a 6.24 40-yard dash and was timed at 4.34 from HP to 1B. She also posted a 5'3 1/2 standing broad jump. A primary RHP, Saydee shows a solid arm swing and lower half operation. Long levers. She has a certain feel for four pitches that are good now and will certainly get better moving forward. Her screwball shows plus spin, and sound arm side bore. Her curve has good spin and decent break. Her drop is a solid pitch with sound late depth. Her rise has plus action and as she continues to work with this pitch, it will be a definite swing and miss offering. Saydee has a sound pitching foundation. Promising things ahead for her in the circle. Saydee also took a turn at 1B where her length plays really well. She has quick feet and positions well. Her glove plays and she transitions well to a solid 60-mph arm. Her throws are firm and accurate. Solid throwing operation. At the plate, Saydee starts in a slightly open stance. She handles the bat well in the short game. Accomplished bunter. She starts with a wider base and is aggressive with her stride. She leans on her back half and creates a steeper plane to contact. When on time and on path, she can impact the ball. There is a lot to like about Saydee's overall game. She appears to have a great passion for the sport. With added strength and agility, continued attention to detail, and exposure to higher level competition, Saydee should be afforded the opportunity to play at the next level.
