Nicholas Riggs is a 2024 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 174 lb. frame from Omaha, NE who attends Bellevue West. He has a medium frame with an athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.10 seconds. Primary left-handed pitcher that works exclusively from the stretch. He uses a knee to just above the belt leg kick and works in line with the plate. He has a long, circular arm action and throws with a loose are from a low 3/4 slot. His fastball has some arm side run and his slider has horizontal break while his curveball has 1-7 shape. His changeup showed nice depth as well. Secondary first baseman that showed soft hands and fields it out in front of his body. He throws with a similar arm action and made strong, accurate throws. Also worked out in the outfield, attacking the ball and fielding it off his back foot. Left-handed hitter that starts in a wide base that is closed with a low and deep hand set. He does not stride and has a rotational swing with a recoil finish. He showed nice hand speed through the zone that allows him to create nice pop off the bat. Very good student.
