TJ Messina is a 2023 2B/SS with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Greenwich, CT who attends Greenwich. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.54 60-yard dash. Primary middle infield, moves well on feet and controls body in actions, fields it out front with clean glove work and gets to the backhand nicely as well, shorter arm action, shows carry on throws across the diamond and works behind it nicely. Right-handed hitter, begins with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate with an even base, utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing in the box, slight barrel tilt at start. Patient approach, stays short to the ball through the zone and shows looseness in hands. Contact oriented approach and works on a mostly linear plane, line drive carry coming off with best contact to pull side, creates backspin off of the barrel when squared, will continue to develop with added strength. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
