John Rigas is a 2022 RHP/SS with a 5-11 140 lb. frame from Lincoln Park, NJ who attends Boonton. Medium, athletic frame with a lean and projectable build, room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.39 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, side step moving into a belt high leg lift, athleticism plays in his delivery and repeats it well. Clean and quick arm action through the back, ball comes out well and topped out at 79 mph. Filled the strike zone and attacked hitters, sequenced slider well and able to miss bats. Up to 71 mph with slider, lands it for strikes and shows tight rotation with late, short break. Extra steps moving through release at shortstop, athleticism to actions, fields the ball out front, shows carry on throws across the diamond. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow start, swing with intent, occasionally gets to front side early. Contact oriented approach, shows a feel for the barrel, can continue to improve timing at the plate. Very good student.
