Thomas Melvin is a 2024 C/RHP, 3B, MIF, OF with a 5-7 136 lb. frame from Plano, TX who attends Undecided. Medium frame with room to fill throughout and time to do so. Ran a 7.84 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, sets up behind the plate with a narrow base and high crouch during drills, comes up with extra movements into transfer and release, long arm action at take back with developing arm strength and intent to his movements. Secondary right-handed pitcher, pitches exclusively from the stretch, takes his arm back to a compact arm action up to a high ¾ arm slot, fastball topped out at 73 mph, will need to develop an offspeed pitch for added effectiveness. Also worked out in the infield, fields the baseball bending at the waist with young hands, moves to the ball with long strides, transfers to his barehand quickly especially to his glove side, stays on top with his throws. Right-handed hitter, starts swing with a high leg lift trigger, has whip to his barrel and a feel for it, barrel accuracy creates backspin especially to the middle of the field, hands are quick and have advanced strength to them, lots of upside at the plate.
