Austin Henry is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-5 215 lb. frame from Dell Rapids, SD who attends Dell Rapids. Extra-large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present physical strength throughout, additional room to fill. Right-handed pitcher, works exclusively out of the stretch, begins with a leg lift up past belt, long arm action through the backside working to a high three-quarters release point, generates big extension down the mound. Fastball topped out at 92 mph, best when down in the zone, maintained velocity and worked within the zone well while mixing bats. Athleticism shows in maintaining release point and delivery. Curveball is a true difference maker, consistently 3000+ RPM with 12-6 shape and late bite, plenty of depth with feel to land for strikes at any time. Showed a changeup up to 83 mph, flashes of fading life with similar release and around the zone with it. Three pitches for strikes and repeats well, plenty of projection remaining. Good student. Verbal commitment to Wichita State. Selected for the 2021 Perfect Game All-American Classic.
