Tobin Eschief is a 2024 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-6 195 lb. frame from New Braunfels, TX who attends Davenport High School. Extra-large frame with a lean, athletic build and plenty of projection. Ran a 7.33 second 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, clean delivery with looseness and ease as a whole, works out of a loose three-quarters slot but can get on top of the baseball and generate some plane. Worked into the upper-80s with solid carry through the zone on the fastball, some inconsistencies with command but able to miss some bats. Showed feel for a full mix of secondaries, kills spin on changeup down into the 1100s and fades it well, showed two distinct shapes on breaking pitches, both spun well and can project on them. Also plays some corner infield and outfield, works clean to the ball with some length to actions, stays on top of throws well and arm strength plays well at both spots. Right-handed hitter, balanced base, big leg lift trigger and swings it with big intent, longer stroke but finds the barrel at a healthy rate, hit a monster bomb in game action well over the center field wall. Good student. Verbal commitment to Texas State. Named to 2022 High School All State Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
