2023 Deep South Prospect Showcase
Hunter Williams is a 2027 2B/RHP, SS with a 5-3 117 lb. frame from New Orleans, LA who attends Archbishop Shaw. Williams ran a 7.55 Sixty Yard Dash. Primary middle infielder with a smaller athletic frame with plenty of room to grow and add additional strength. He showed plenty of lateral movement catching the ball cleanly out in front with some athleticism. Working with a mid body exchange he worked with a loose arm stroke with accuracy across the diamond. On the mound Hunter has a clean repeatable operation with a Hip high leg lift and a shorter stride. He moves very methodical throughout the operation with some effort at release. The fastball is commanded well to both sides of the plate. Right handed hitter starts with a shoulder length base with a slight toe tap trigger. The bat path is linear through the zone as showing consistent contact and working an up the middle to pull side approach. Hunter is an excellent student.
