John Kelleher is a 2024 OF/C with a 5-11 155 lb. frame from Monroe, NY who attends Monroe Woodbury. Long, lean frame with good actions and ample time to develop from an overall physicality standpoint. Primary position OF, fielding the ball nicely out front with deliberate footwork and action with the glove. Gathers to the midline and uses a shorter arm acton with very good present strength. Sits back a little bit but there is some good potential here. Secondary position C, working from a deep and slightly side-saddle set up. Glove works smoothly and made consistently clean transfers as he gained ground well with his lower-half. Emerging arm strength and accuracy from behind the plate but plenty of time to refine his overall operation. LHH starting with a nice even and balanced stance and using a hovering leg lift to create timing and rhythm. Pull oriented approach with some natural loft and the juice to back it up. Hand strength is present and feel for the barrel is evident. Has the look of an offensive catcher or corner outfielder long term. Outstanding student.
