Luke Channell is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Birmingham, AL who attends Oak Mountain. Solid athletic build with good length and lots of physical projection remaining. Left handed hitter, sets up in a wide stance with a short leg raise trigger, loads his hands low, moves well into contact, has good present bat speed and strength to the pull side, projectable hitting tools. 7.22 runner in the sixty. Primary first baseman on defense, moves well and has athletic actions, soft hands catching the ball, makes accurate throws with good carry from a higher arm slot. Also worked out in the outfield, less polished actions on the grass but still shows athleticism, threw from a lower arm slot that could be raised for more carry. Took a turn on the mound, has a fast paced delivery with a high leg raise and a long in-line arm action that hides the ball well. Fastball topped out at 83 mph with some sinking life, was able to locate the ball to both sides of the plate well. Threw a slurve type breaking ball with developing feel and conviction, also killed the spin well on a fading change up. Has potential on both sides of the ball. Excellent student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
