2022 Preseason HS Prospect Showcase
Tyler Payne is a 2024 3B/MIF with a 5-10 162 lb. frame from Hamilton, VA who attends Woodgrove HS. Recorded a 7.42 second 60-yard dash time. Medium frame with long limbs and lots of room to add strength. Primary shortstop with deliberate actions and some short lateral range to either side. Shorter arm stroke with throws recorded up to 70 mph across the diamond. Showed the ability to change arm slots with intent. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance, high hand set, and a high back elbow. Direct path to contact and the hands work well in the swing. Uphill swing plane with some hand quickness when turning the barrel. Low effort stroke with loose hands that projects well. Great student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
