Ty Newton is a 2025 OF/RHP/SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Murfreesboro, TN who attends Rockvale. Medium athletic build with some young strength in his lower half and more to come. 6.78 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, works through the ball aggressively, big crow hop into his throws, stays on top of his throws well and creates on line carry, overall athletic actions. Also played the infield, shows good raw arm strength and some athleticism to the ball, arm length and lower slot not ideal for the infield but the tools can be coached up. Switch-hitter at the plate with bat speed from both sides, has an easy tension free swing from the left side, hits from a narrow upright stance with fast hands and good bat speed. Similar approach right handed, showed strength to all fields right handed and swung it well in games from this side, hands play up from both sides, projects to keep improving with additional strength.. Also pitched, has an athletic delivery that he repeats well, loose arm swing the an over the top arm slot, works down the mound well, has rhythm and pace to his actions. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with good arm side running life. Curveball had big downer action at times. Change up was his best pitch with full arm speed and late fading action. Multi-talented player who projects. Very good student. Named to the Fall Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
