John Blazer is a 2029 RHP/1B/3B/OF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Strongsville, OH who attends St Ignatius. Strong and sturdy young build. He is an 8.34 runner in the sixty. Works from a full wind up from an off-set start, medium high leg raise, high 3/4's arm slot, well integrated and synced up mechanics, is a fast and aggressive worker. Fastball topped out at 80 mph with high spin rate characteristics, works best at the top of the zone and beat barrels when located there. Threw a big 12/6 curveball that changed eye levels well when tunneled with the upper zone fastball. Competed well. 8.34 runner in the sixty. Worked out all over the field defensively but is best suited for first base as his secondary position, has good footwork at first and some one step athleticism, made plays cleanly. Right handed hitter, sets up in an open stance with a rock back load to start his swing, was well timed and showed some hand quickness while getting the barrel out front consistently, pulls with some impact.
