Alek Southworth is a 2025 OF/RHP, 3B, MIF, UT with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Reedsburg, WI who attends Reedsburg Area. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.05 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, quick feet with lots of energy on the approach, takes extra steps moving into release, occasionally gets uphill with release but shows carry and present strength when on top of the ball, higher slot on throws, moves well and shows some range. Right-handed hitter, begins with an even base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate, utilizes a simple and subtle leg lift trigger for timing. Does a nice job of getting extended out front with the hands, comfort working to the middle of the field. Shows some feel for the barrel when on time and in sync, shorter and compact path overall with projectable strength. Excellent student.
