Jerry Valdez is a 2023 SS/2B with a 5-6 140 lb. frame from Salt Lake City, UT who attends West. Medium frame with slender, young build; ran 60 yard dash in 7.66 seconds. Hits from open, narrow-based stance with stationary lower half through swing, hip leaks and creates pull-side approach, can work middle, swings it hard, rotational, can square up pitches middle-in. Worked out in the infield, methodical pace to actions, tends to wait back, late hands into funnel, glove tap as he gathers, clocked up to 65 mph on throws. Good student.
